Health tip

Hi there friends….I would like to share with you about taking Vitamin D. Did you know that high levels of vitamin D can help people lower their risk of peripheral artery disease (PAD). The condition, which affects about 8 million Americans, occurs when arteries in the legs become clogged with fatty deposits, reducing blood flow to the legs. According to Lead investigator Dr. Michal Melamed, of New York’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine, analyzed data on vitamin D levels in nearly 5,000 people. The key finding: People with the lowest vitamin D levels are more than twice as like to have PAD that those with the highest levels. However, Dr. Melamed says it’s still unclear whether vitamin D supplementation can help people who already have PAD.
And for those older women who aren’t getting enough vitamin D could be risk for suffering from back pain. Scientists at the University of Delaware looked at blood levels of vitamin D in 958 people 65 and older. Fifty-eight percent of the women in the study, and 27 percent of the men, turned out to have moderate pain in at least one relationship between vitamin D levels and pain. But women with vitamin D deficiency were nearly twice as likely to have back pain that was moderate or severe.

Have a wonderful weekend…..
