Women Saints part 2

Saint Theresa

Theresa was born in Normandy, France and was the youngest of five children. She was a happy child who loved Jesus. Two of her sisters had entered the Carmelite convent. When she was fifteen, more than anything else she wanted to join the Carmelites like her sisters. But, the bishop and the Carmelites told her she was too young.

A few months later, Theresa went with her father to Rome. She knelt before the Pope and boldly asked him to let her be a Carmelite nun. The Pope liked her at once, but he agreed with the bishop. At the end of the year, the bishop gave his permission and at the age of fifteen, she entered the convent.

Theresa spent her life saving souls, praying, helping priests, sacrificing and suffering. Loving and trusting in God, as a child, was her "little way". Her favorite saying was from Saint John of the Cross who said, "Love is repaid by love alone."

Typhoon "Ondoy" or "Katsana" in Thailand

These are the results or outcome by Typhoon "Ondoy" or in Thailand where the typhoon location at called "Katsana." After 2 days of devastated flood in Metro Manila and some part of provinces like Rizal, Batangas and Bulacan, you can see the photos where the refrigerator, trash can or even human body are found on top of the trees. Fishes that came from the Marikina River are on the roads and still alive swimming with full of mud. Cars are every where upside down and you can see the road full of trash. The latest casualty toll are 140 dead, 5 were hurt and 32 people still missing. People were confused and scared because weather caster found another storm will be hit the Island of Philippines by Thursday. It's heartbreaking to see and hear what's happening to the people who have been experiencing the Mother Nature’s calamity. Many of us can’t forget and yet we all accept it. Maybe God has purpose or reason why some people has to experience such tragedy. Maybe God reminding us that we forget Him sometimes. We can not ask His help now when we are desperate for help. We all need to talk to Him everyday not when we are in trouble. We need to open our eyes and hearts for people in desperate need. Please.....help one another!

Tropical Storm "Ondoy"

These are the photos I took last night while I was watching Philippine News or TV Patrol. Just last two weeks ago, there was a storm hits Philippines and some people still recuperating what they’ve lost. They are some still in evacuation center and have not been return to their houses because either they have no money to rebuilt their house or still under flood. Yesterday when storm “Ondoy” hits Metro Manila and some provinces, another flood “Ondoy” left. As you can see at the photos women (young and old) and children were stranded or trapped in their roof waiting for help. Some people were been rescued but others are still waiting to be rescue. People who were been trapped in their roof, they have not eaten or have nothing to drink. Children were crying because they are hungry and women were scared and worried. Philippine government tried their best to rescue all the people but some rescue teams couldn’t go to the place where people needs their help due to overflow and excess flood or not enough equipment like rubber boats and helicopters. Men were helping the old people, women and children to remove from the flood into the dry and safe place. Not only houses and properties people lost, some are lives. Others died from landslide, fire and even wall that fell. People where the place not affected by flood, they starts to donate clothes, food and money. Doctors and nurses checked the young kids if they are ok. I will post tomorrow about the result or outcome by the storm.

Women Saints

For a couple of weeks, I was too busy packing stuffs that I am sending in the Philippines before we go home. As I was digging and looking for other things, I found this booklet that has women saints. It has their history and how they became and called saints.
This is the meaning of Saints...
St.John wrote, "This is love, not that we have loved God, but that He has first loved us, and sent His Son to atone for our sins."
Jesus told us to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. "Whatsoever you do to the least of these, you do to Me."
St. Therese of Lisieux often quoted, "Love is repaid by love alone."
So, Saints are people who passionately love the God who first loved them. They serve others, especially the poor; are kind to those who are difficult to love; keep trying when they feel discouraged; and listen before they speak.
Jesus calls all of us to be His hands, His feet, and His heart, bringing His peace, His hope and His joy to our world.
This is how we love Jesus; this is what it means to be a Saint.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel
The first place dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary was mount Carmel. Even before her Assumption into heaven, a chapel was built there to honor her. That's were the order of nuns called the Carmelites got its name.
July 16, the day of the patronal feast of the Carmelites, is also the feast of the "Scapular of Mount Carmel." That's when the Blessed Virgin appeared to Saint Simon Stock.
Simon was the General of the Carmelites in Cambridge, England. The Blessed Virgin showed him the scapular. She promised to give special favors and protection to everyone in his order who would wear her scapular. She extended her promise to include all people everywhere who would wear the scapular.
Anyone who is a good Christian and wants to receive Our Lady of Mount Carmel's special favors and protection can wear the Carmelite scapular.

The New BMW Sports Car

This is my DREAM CAR! I don't usually dream any car but when I saw this photos from the article of Yahoo website, I fell in love with it! My hubby is the only one who's crazy about cars. Almost everyday, he always mention his favorite or dream car. He even wants to buy a car before this year ends due to more sales and discounts. But if he sees this BMW, he might change his mind to wait. The article I read didn't mention the price only says frugal and fast. I bet frugal means cheaper than Ferrari or other most expensive cars. My hubby wants to buy a car that it has only 2 seaters. Just for him and I, (no kids or other passsenger) that cruisin around the Autobahn or Highway/Freeway. I'll post the article I read from Yahoo website so you can read it yourself. What are the features and made of. You'll be amaze!
2009 Frankfurt Auto Show
As a plug-in full hybrid with a turbodiesel engine, upward-pivoting doors and radical styling, BMW's 4- seat Vision EfficientDynamics concept car—now on display at the Frankfurt auto show—is packed with technology enabling it to be both frugal and fast.

Complementing the Vision’s futuristic exterior styling, the interior of the car has a flowing instrument panel and a seating arrangement designed to give the passengers a floating-in-air feel. The upholstery is mostly made with natural materials although Kevlar is used for the seats. New technology such as a 3- dimensional head-up display and BMW night vision is included.

The chassis of the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept is constructed mostly from aluminum, with the roof and the exterior body made almost entirely from a special polycarbonate material. The car is 181.1 in. long, 74.8 in. wide and 48.8 in. tall. It has a 2+2 seating configuration that includes 5.3 cu. ft. of luggage space.

The Vision concept is powered by three sources: two electric motors (one at each axle, giving the car all-wheel drive in electric mode) and a turbodiesel engine (in front of the rear axle). The synchronous electric motor in front can provide a continuous output of 80 horsepower and peak torque of 162 lb.-ft. via a two-stage, single-speed reduction gearbox. For that extra kick needed when passing, the same motor can deliver 112 hp for up to 30 sec., and up to 139 hp for 10 sec.

In back, the second electric motor resides between the mid-mounted turbodiesel and BMW’s 6-speed DCT twin-clutch gearbox driving the rear axle. It is rated to serve up 33 hp continuously (51 hp peak) and maximum torque of 214 lb.-ft. Combined, the two electric motors can carry double duty in propelling the car, or serve as regenerative powerplants to recharge the onboard lithium-polymer batteries.

There are a total of 98 lithium-polymer cells that sit in the middle of the car running from front to back. Each individual 30 amp-hr cell can deliver 600 amps at 3.7 volts. And when that extra passing power is needed, each cell can ramp up to provide 1200 amps. The entire battery pack weighs about 190 lb. The onboard computer keeps the lithium-polymers at optimal operating conditions by using up to 80 percent of its discharge capacity (10.6 kWh total) when the car is in motion.
The rear/mid-mounted direct-injection, 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbodiesel puts out 163 bhp and 214 lb.-ft. of torque. Combined with the electric motors, the total system output is 356 bhp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque, giving a level of performance that BMW says is "superior to anything provided so far by a hybrid vehicle."

Not totally relying on the turbodiesel engine, the Vision EfficientDynamics also features a plug-in solution where the batteries can be recharged in 2.5 hours when connected to a 220-volt 16-amp outlet. With a 380-volt 32-amp electric source, the charging time can be as little as 44 minutes. Running in full electric mode, the car can travel up to 31 miles. With only the turbodiesel providing power, an approximate 400-mile range can be obtained using a 6.6-gallon tank.

In the European Union test cycle, aided by the car's aerodynamic shape (its drag coefficient is just 0.22) and narrow tires for a sports car — 195/55s on 21-in. wheels—the Vision is able to achieve a fuel economy rating of 3.76 liters/100 kilometers (62.5 mpg equivalent), with CO2 emission recorded at a low 99 g/km.

Due to the car's considerable power and relatively low curb weight of 3076 lb., BMW claims the Vision EfficientDynamics concept can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds, and easily exceed its electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

Leave it to BMW to figure out a way to make hybrids exciting.

How the couple starts a fight???

I have a good and funny jokes about a couple started a fight.
When we read it, it's funny but when it happen to us, it isn't!
Good day!!!

My wife and I are watching "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" while we were in bed.
I turned to her and said,"Do you want to have sex?"
"No," she answered.I then said, "Is that your final answer?"
She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying, "Yes."
So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend."
And then the fight started....
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, made my lunch,
grabbed the dog, and slipped quietly into the garage.
I hooked the boat up tothe truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour.
The wind was blowing 50 mph, so I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad all day.
I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed.
I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered,
"The weather out there is terrible.
"My loving wife of 10 years replied, "Can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that?"
And then the fight started ....
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~

I rear-ended a car this morning.
So, there we were alongside the road and slowly the other driver got out of his car.
You know how sometimes you just get soooo stressed and little things just seem funny?
Yeah, well I couldn't believe it....
He was a DWARF!!! He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and shouted,
"I AM NOT HAPPY!!!" So, I looked down at him and said, "Well, then which one are you?"
And then the fight started.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said, 'I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds.'
I bought her a scale.
And then the fight started...
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~

When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her some place expensive...
so, I took her to a gas station.
And then the fight started...
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for SocialSecurity..
The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver's license to verify my age.
I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home.
I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later.
The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'.
So I opened my shirt revealing mycurly silver hair.
She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me' and she processed my Social Security application.
When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the SocialSecurity office.
She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability, too.'
And then the fight started...
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~

My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table.
My wife asked, 'Do you know her?'' Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend.
I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.
''My God!' says my wife, 'who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'
And then the fight started...
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first.
"I'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please."
He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?"
"Nah, she can order for herself."
And then the fight started...
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~

A woman is standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror.
She is not happy with what she sees and says to her husband,
'I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.
'The husband replies, 'Your eye sight's damn near perfect.'
And then the fight started.....
