Does any one knows that long-term use of widely available ibuprofen dramatically cuts the risk of Alzheimer's disease? According to a 245,000-patient study of U.S. veterans, it's simple to slash your risk of Alzheimer's disease. Investigators found that veterans who had used ibuprofen for more than 40 percent less likely to develop the heartbreaking ailment. Results also showed that the longer ibuprofen was used, the lower the risk for dementia. Study head Dr. Steven Vlad of Boston University says more research must be done before doctors can recommend that patients take ibuprofen to prevent dementia.
